Message from Mr Walker
We are doing everything we can to ensure school can remain open while we still ensure we take preventive measures to limit the spread of infection. Attendance by pupils at school was good today (I am so proud of our pupils and how they are dealing with this!) and we currently have no known confirmed Coronavirus cases within our school community. However, we do have many families self-isolating for 14 days because their child or someone in their household is displaying symptoms. We also have a few parents keeping their children at home as a precautionary measure due to underlying health reasons with regards the child or the household. I do understand why you are taking these measures. All Coronavirus related absences will be recorded as ‘Exceptional Circumstances’ on children’s attendance records and will not count towards their overall school attendance.
Finally, the new government guidance on 14 day household isolation is and will continue to affect staffing levels in school. Please bear with us as we work through these issues in order to ensure children can continue attending school for as long as possible.
