Our SEND Policy is currently due for review. As a Trust, we are awaiting the publication of the forthcoming Government White Paper and associated statutory guidance relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

In order to ensure that our policy fully reflects the most up‑to‑date national expectations, legislation and best practice, we have taken the decision to pause our formal review until this guidance is published.

    In the meantime:

The school continues to meet all current statutory duties under the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice (2015). Provision for pupils with SEND remains fully in place and under regular review. Pupils with SEND will continue to be supported according to their individual needs through high‑quality, inclusive teaching and appropriate interventions. The existing SEND Policy remains in force until a revised policy is formally approved and published.

Once the national guidance is released, the Trust will review and update the SEND Policy accordingly and make it available on this website.

    Speech and Language Therapy (SALT)

Our school funds it's own Speech and Language Therapist to work with and set up programmes for children with Speech and Language difficulties. The therapist will also link directly with any NHS Speech and Language work that is currently ongoing for your child.

Please contact the school for more information.

Inclusive Spaces for Children with SEND

At Blidworth Oaks, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all our students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We have carefully designed our regulation spaces and classrooms to meet the diverse needs of our students while adhering to statutory guidance, including the Children and Families Act 2014, the Equality Act 2010, and the SEND Code of Practice (2015). These spaces are managed by trained staff who prioritise the wellbeing, dignity, and safety of all children. Clear protocols and safeguarding measures are in place to ensure these environments foster emotional regulation, learning, and inclusion. We regularly monitor and review the use of these spaces to ensure they remain effective, and we work closely with families to develop and adapt individualised plans that support every child’s progress. Your child’s safety, dignity, wellbeing, and education are always our priority.
