Children go swimming throughout the entirety of their Year 4 year. This enables them to have a long period of consistent teaching in swimming which we have found supports children to make more rapid progress and achieve a level of swimming competency that is sustained over time, even for children who do not have regular swimming opportunities.

Children who don't develop a level of swimming competency at the end of Year 4 are often given additional swimming opportunities in Years 5 and 6 where appropriate. 

The school also enters an annual schools swimming gala.
